To be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by maintaining the appearance of Health First facilities by repairing surfaces and applying paint, varnish, stains, or wallpaper to insure an aesthetically pleasing environment for customers and staff.
Maintain safe work procedures while performing assigned duties, paying strict attention to safety guidelines while performing aesthetic repairs. Verified by incident/accident reports.
Inspects equipment to ensure proper functioning. Makes minor repairs and adjustments as needed. Assures equipment is stored properly.
Prepare surfaces for painting or wallpapering by removing old wallpaper and/or paint, washing, scraping, sanding, filling holes, cracks and joints. Move and rearrange furniture, spread canvas to protect room contents and select equipment to erect scaffold, rigging or other staging to prepare work area.
Select premixed paints or prepare paints by thinning; blend paints to match specified colors; apply primer and finish coats; clean and maintain tools and equipment. Paper walls by measuring wall space, cutting wallpaper to wall size and applying to wall.
Restore and/or refinish damaged wood and metal surfaces by stripping old finish, sanding and refinishing.
Hangs pictures and various fixtures (soap, alcohol gel, etc.).
Consistently maintains pleasant interaction with all customers and visitors. Verified by no complaints received by Building Grounds management.
Coordinate, schedule and perform activities such as painting, varnishing, staining and wallpapering to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, equipment and furniture
- High School or vocational school graduate desired.
- 3 years experience in the painting and wallpapering trade.
- Special learned knowledge of paint mixing and surface preparation equal to journeyman ability in trades or crafts.
