  • Within an hour's drive you will find numerous golf courses, winter activities, camping and two cities, (Toledo and Fort Wayne).
  • As little as 5 minutes away you will find the Ohio Turnpike where one can travel East to intersect with Interstate 75 or to the west and intersect with Interstate 69, both of which are major North/South transportation routes.


  • This position is responsible for and/or has authority to maintain robots on paint systems and troubleshooting of entire paint system. 
  • Lead and coordinate the production efforts for a production line or area according to appropriate work instructions.
  • Set up production line according to appropriate process set up instructions. 
  • Prepare, catalyze test and use paint according to process. 
  • Continuously monitor paint and equipment processes and make necessary adjustment to keep process in control limits. 
  • Coordinate the activities of the workers within the assigned area. 
  • Demonstrate proper work methods for all jobs within the assigned area and assure the proper documentation of production records and charting.
  • Report potential hazards, safety violations and accidents to supervisor.  Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisor and/or maintenance. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area to maintain a clean, safe work area.  
  • Work with supervision, engineering, quality, warehouse and others in problem solving efforts and in continuously improving methods.  Reports potential problems, shortages, etc. to supervisor as soon as possible. 
  • Troubleshoot all paint defects.  Repair equipment in the paint system. 
  • Maintain comprehensive documents of the paint process.  Perform preventative maintenance on robots and paint applications equipment. 
  • Communicate with inspectors/QC for any paint quality problems.
  • Overtime and hours worked outside of normal scheduled shift is required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor related to or consistent with implied responsibilities.
  • Control all waste in paint room.  Verify all returned liquid and solid waste is identified.  Dispose of in appropriate containers. Maintain spill kit and assist in spill cleanup as needed.
  • Has authority to stop the production line due to quality issues.
  • Train painter on new jobs, best practices and all applicable equipment. 

One-year experience working with paints, solvents and paint equipment.  One year previous experience or robotics preferred and/or one year previous PC software.
Skills and Characteristics
Strong communication skills to lead and instruct associates.  Knowledge of SPC and other process improvement tools is required.  Willingness to learn and teach in a team oriented work environment and participate in continuous systems improvements is necessary.  Ability to perform all jobs in assigned area.  Good analytical skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Regular work environment involves regular exposure to some dust and/or fumes.  Physical demands require infrequent movement of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.  And frequently lifting materials up to 10 lbs. May require the use of respirator for applicable products and processes.
